Since its founding in September 1970, when eight women came together with a vision for community outreach, the Junior Service League of Brazosport (JSL) has proudly dedicated thousands of volunteer hours to serving the Brazosport community.

For more than five decades, JSL has brought together women who are passionate about making a difference. Our organization continues to welcome women with fresh ideas, diverse experiences, and a shared commitment to giving back. This combination of new energy and long-standing traditions of service makes JSL a meaningful opportunity for women who want to connect, serve, and positively impact their community.

Over the years, JSL has evolved into a strong and diverse group of women from both the professional workforce and the home, united by one common goal: to identify needs within our community and work together to meet them.

In 2014, JSL began a new chapter in its history. After 41 years of operating the Bargain Box as our primary service project, we shifted our focus toward a more active, hands-on approach to community service. Today, JSL continues to build on that legacy by partnering with local organizations, supporting community initiatives, and creating opportunities for our members to serve where they are needed most.

Our service projects take many forms, but they are always guided by one central purpose: to meet needs that might otherwise go unmet and serve where our members can make a meaningful difference.

Each service year brings new opportunities to give back. JSL members volunteer with organizations throughout Southern Brazoria County and support a variety of community events and initiatives. From Stuff the Bus and Candy Cane Carnival to Bunco, Beats & Bingo, our 5K/Fun Run, and Ladies Who Lunch, these events allow us to raise funds, build relationships, support local causes, and—most importantly—serve our community.

Our history is built on service, our present is powered by women who care, and our future is shaped by the difference we can make together.
