The Junior Service League of Brazosport Welcomes You!

Sustaining Hearts of Service

In September 1970, eight women met to discuss community outreach in the Brazosport community. Since 1970, the Junior Service League of Brazosport (JSL) has given thousands of volunteer hours to community projects and endeavors through service projects or fundraising. More than 250 active and sustaining members, the best and brightest women of the community are continually recruited to join our ranks. We invite you to join us as we continue to support our community.

Our Mission

The object of the Junior Service League shall be to train its members for effective participation in the community through a program of education and volunteer service.

Info Update

In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, the leadership of the Junior Service League of Brazosport has decided to postpone the 50th Anniversary celebration, “50 Years of Sustaining Hearts”, originally scheduled for April 4, 2020, at the Dow Academic Center.

Following the announcement of the closures of area school districts and other community events, we believe this is the right course of action. Factors that were considered in our decision were the expected number of attendees and the risk factors within that population. This remains a dynamic and evolving situation. We will continue to monitor developments and will communicate updates via email, social media, and our website:

For those who have already purchased tickets through PayPal at the JSL website, you will be reimbursed and you may purchase a new ticket once the rescheduled date has been determined. If you have any questions, please contact current JSL President, Karley Deeley, at or JSL Past President, Alison Pottratz, at

We still look forward to celebrating 50 years of service in the greater Brazosport community and the legacy started by many incredible women. Please continue to follow JSL of Brazosport at our website, on social media, and with our electronic newsletter. Thank you for your understanding.
