I am both honored and excited to address you ladies as your President. Six years ago, I can tell you I had absolutely NO IDEA I would be standing here today. I have always had a heart of service and strong leadership skills, but through this organization, these qualities have grown. All of you have played a role in my life, and also in the Junior Service League. This fantastic organization is made up of equally amazing women.
The service year for 2019-2020 is a big year. It’s our Golden Year. Fifty years of serving this community. What a feat! I am so excited to see how we can impact our community in BIG WAYS.
I look forward to successful events. So far we have expanded Stuff the Bus into Angleton ISD for the first time. Teddy Bear Tea is now Teddy Bear Carnival and revamped where we can have fun with kiddos while collecting toys for the Blue Santa program. Moreover, of course, our 50th Anniversary Gala- A Black Tie Affair, where we will raise funds to support Brazoria Youth and Family Counseling Services.
I am also looking forward to exploring new and exciting ways for our members to serve our community. We have added several Community Programs that will continue to help our members make an impact with the community.
I know with the leadership and enthusiasm from our 2019-2020 Board of Directors, along with all our rock-star members, it will be the best year yet.
In closing, I will leave you with this Helen Keller quote, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” I look forward to working together for an unforgettable Golden Year of service!
